<h3>Tissue Culture Propagation of Apple Rootstocks</h3>
<p>Plant tissue culture may be a comparatively new propagation technique that started 50 years ago. It&#8217;s become a significant propagation tool for several plant species, especially for flowering tree rootstocks: apple, pear, cherry, peach, almond, etc. The bulk of peach and cherry rootstocks propagated through tissue culture. Concerning 15 to 20 million peach rootstocks are propagated by tissue culture annually. More and more pears, cherry, peach, almond, walnut, and pistachio rootstocks are propagated by tissue culture. <li>Can be used to rapidly propagate new selections or cultivars and for large-scale production of rootstocks for commercial production.</li>
<li>Can offer year-around propagation for rootstocks without many seasonal restrictions.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Tissue Culture&#8217;s Application for Horticultural Crops</h3>
<p>Tissue culture created the likelihood to get a whole plant from single cells or tissues, which opened new approaches to plant improvement. It&#8217;s become an important technique to supply plants with desired genetics, characteristics, and productivity.</p>
