Despite of huge demand for the crop, only limited breeding work has been done and very little attention has been given for its genetic improvement to enhance the productivity level. Before coming out with any superior variety with better yield there is need to periodically check the performance of available germplasm in comparison to best performing variety of that agro-climatic region, the purpose of this study is to identify the high yielding genotypes.
