The present communication deals with the new record of Anthia (Anthia) sexguttata sexguttata, the Six-spot Ground Beetle, belonging to family Carabidae under order Coleoptera, from Jehanabad, Bihar (India). Its adults and larvae feed on agriculture pests mainly on soil which also sometimes ascend to vegetation around in search of their preferred food and hence is considered a beneficial predator, playing a major role in biological control of insect pests. In view of this a detailed account with systematic account, altitudinal range, distribution, habitat, food & feeding, life cycle, beneficial role and self-defence, is provided here.
