Abstract

Qualitative analysis has played a crucial role in the identification of new bioactive compounds. The contributions of this study include providing a comprehensive review of the bioactive compounds found in the Polyporales and their pharmacological characteristics as well as identifying several specific compounds using mass spectroscopy. In Microporus xanthopus (Fr.) Kuntze compound identification both for positive ion and negative ion mode was done using mass spectroscopy. MS detected presence of several Phenols, Tannin, Sesquiterpenoid, Fatty acid, Macrolide, Steroid like compounds.
