Abstract

This note reports on an observation, made on the mating behaviour of Herpestes auropunctatus in an urban park of the National Capital Territory of Delhi. Though, the species is protected in India, very less work has been carried out on its ecology, specifically on its breeding habits. Documenting such small behavior and responses of the native wild species in the green spaces would be of paramount importance in management and conservation of the urban ecosystems.
